The Harmony of the Gospels – Week 35 – Jesus Rights Many Wrongs
Jesus returns to Jerusalem for His final Passover and, after weeping over the city’s spiritual blindness, enters the temple to confront the corruption that has overtaken its courts. Priests and vendors were exploiting worshipers through rigged inspections, inflated exchange rates, and repeated resale of sacrificial animals, turning the Court of the Gentiles into a noisy marketplace instead of a place of prayer. By overturning tables, driving out merchants, and stopping people from carrying goods through the outer court, Jesus restores dignity to Gentile worshipers and exposes the religious hypocrisy that had hollowed out true worship.
