The Harmony of the Gospels – Week 37 – The Olivet Discourse
Jesus delivers eight sharp “woes” against the Pharisees for hypocrisy and spiritual corruption before leaving the temple and teaching His disciples privately on the Mount of Olives about the end times. In the Olivet Discourse, He describes deception, wars, persecution, falling away, the abomination of desolation, and His eventual return, emphasizing that no one knows the day or hour and urging His followers to stay alert and prepared. Through parables like the fig tree, the ten virgins, the talents, and the sheep and goats, Jesus calls believers to readiness, faithfulness, and wise stewardship as they await His coming.
