Jesus teaches His disciples during the Last Supper that His coming suffering is not a defeat but part of God’s plan to glorify the Father. After Judas leaves, He gives them a new commandment to love one another with the same radical, sacrificial love He has shown. He then explains that believers will carry on His work through the Holy Spirit, asking in His name for things that glorify God, make Christ known, and serve others humbly.
